Spring just lasted for a few days this year in Romania, giving place to an early
summer of intense and numerous Realization-giving events. One of these was
TIBCO, a yearly International Fair for Consumer Goods in Bucharest (May 28th
to June
2nd), a fair where many things are sold and bought, including witchcraft and
divination services and a great variety of free shows.

But there was also a
wonder place… To get Realization at the overcrowded
Sahaja Yoga booth, genuine seekers who had seen the advertisement on our web
site came even from outside Bucharest, leaving work earlier, queuing for vibrations
and spending their last money on our Sahaj books and music.

Like in any other
Sahaj event, the Divine provided unexpected help: sending us student actors
who volunteered to hand out our flyers; changing the small
stage where our musical group had to perform for a larger one and helping
the musicians sort out all technical problems through specialized sound companies
who just happened to have equipment available; selecting our brother’s
dance among the 19 videos available on the fair’s website (and which
you can still watch at http://www.tibco.ro/live/ziua4/ziua43.htm).
During
six solid days, Sahaja Yogis and Yoginis talked to people of all walks
of life, coming from all parts of Romania and also from abroad, people of
different beliefs and races; they performed Indian classical dances, presented
a beautiful
parade of Indian costumes and sang Sahaj bhajans on almost all stages of
the
fair.
Our Indian brothers and sisters worked very hard giving Realisation
every day, as many Romanian seekers view them as experts in Yoga and people
from
other races also seem to relate more comfortably to them. They even gave Realisation
to a young Rroma “princess of witches”.
So they had all sorts of
nice things happening with these people. Like when one of our Indian brothers
approached a Muslim trying to explain him how
everything is relating to Shri Mohammed, and the person replied: “Forget
Mohammed, tell me about Sahaja Yoga”. Or another Muslim, after getting
his Realisation, was told to ask „is Shri Mataji Hazrat Ali, Fatima,
Hassan and Husein” and he felt tremendous cool vibrations. Or the Muslim
lady with her three kids, all of whom felt vibrations and the smallest, aged
3, exclaimed that air was coming out of his head!

Romanian
seekers proved to be equally amazing: the boy carrying juices for the restaurant
next to our
booth was very eager to discuss about Aristotle,
Avatars and the Holy Ghost. Two booths further, the boy selling car pieces
was not satisfied with the Bible’s explanation about Genesis... He seems
a rigid Orthodox, but he finally accepted to try the experiment and left very
happy, after respectfully kissing the hand of the Yogini responsible for this
happening... A marketing expert examined our booth to find out how the cool
breeze is generated! He collected all the flyers to better understand the phenomenon,
and promised to attend meetings in his home town. He didn’t quite understand
why we don’t charge money, “for this is an essential marketing
principle!” He left like dancing, smiling.

Some people enjoyed to see
us wear beautiful Indian clothes; some where impressed by our shining faces
and light mood; some others had to overcome their negative
past experiences with false gurus, to try and get Realisation, and they succeeded.
We got very much help from our 5-6 types of flyers of different sizes and
information, most of them in colors and beautifully made for such occasions.
But the most
powerful method proved to be the direct contact with people. Fairs, exhibitions
or just a tent in a public place seem to work wonders, as people are more
and more ready to receive what we are to give.

For six days (one of which had
a Sun eclipse!), the vibrations in the otherwise trying atmosphere of the
capital city of Romania were incredibly strong and
nourishing. People at work or in the streets just seemed to become more
interested in Yoga, without any explanation, so contacts were made and flyers
handed
out spontaneously. The sky was just slightly closer to the Earth then usual.
Jay
Shri Mataji!
Much love from Romania,
Cristina Radu, Bucharest
