Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Introduction and Background
 As many of you already know, the Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Sahaja Yoga World Foundation was personally inaugurated by Shri Mataji in July 2006, on the occasion of Guru Puja. After more than 30 years of tirelessly travelling the globe to give realisation and teach Sahaja Yoga, she decided to give the sahaj world collective an instrument with which we, her children, can take up the challenge of continuing her work for the emancipation of mankind. The mission of the Foundation is thus to support the perpetuation and spread of her message and teachings throughout the world.
In setting up the Foundation Shri Mataji generously donated to it all her properties in Cabella and the Val Borbera. This includes her 15th century villa, Palazzo Doria, a mountain property in Daglio, a country house in Centrassi and the convention centre complex of Albera. In this way people can continue to come together, as they have for the past 15 years, for meditation and spiritual regeneration, participating in pujas and seminars. But if Cabella is an oasis where one seeks refuge, it is also our job as Sahaja Yogis to make the desert fertile again. It is, therefore, part of the mission of the Foundation to create opportunities for giving realisation to seekers, for the study of Shri Mataji’s writings and talks and for the exploration of new and innovative solutions to the problems of the world.
Projects and Activities
To this end the Foundation has launched a series of projects aimed at upgrading its infrastructure in order to enable it to host a wider range of events, open not just to Sahaja Yogis but also to the outside world. For example, a new building housing an industrial kitchen facility, reception rooms, dormitories and extra toilets is proposed for the Albera complex; the villa in Centrassi is being expanded and developed to host small seminars and retreats; and the Daglio properties will be renovated and transformed into a multifunctional, hostel facility.
There is also a project to set up a permanent library to house all the lectures and works of Shri Mataji and another to transform the hangar into a temple worthy of Shri Adi Shakti Mataji Nirmala Devi. Those of you present at Sahasrara puja this year will already have see the major improvements to the area immediately around the hangar. Entrusted with the stewardship of these properties our hope is to transform them into a monument to our love for and dedication to our beloved Mother.
The Foundation has recently launched a website (www.sahajworldfoundation.org) where you can access more detailed information about the projects as well as find out about some of the activities planned for this year. It is, for example, our profound hope that Shri Mataji will bless us with her presence at more than one puja in Cabella this year. We are also planning to host a Children’s Summer Camp, an International Yuva Shakti Seminar, a two week Arts Academy, Health & Wellness seminars and workshops. The European Realisation Tour will take place under the auspices of the World Foundation this year.
Request for Funds
 As you will appreciate, in order to carry forward these projects and activities funds are required. Shri Mataji has conceded a significant portion of the royalties on Her intellectual property to the Foundation. However, it will be some time before the scheme will begin to provide a significant income for the Foundation so, in the meantime, we ask you, the world collective, to follow the example of our Mother in Her generosity, and make a personal donation to the Foundation. Our target is to raise € 250,000 by the end of the year and, while everyone is free to give according to their means and disposition, if we were to receive a donation of around € 50 per working adult, we should easily raise the amount.

Conclusion
In a way the setting up of the Foundation marks our coming of age, steadily growing into mature beings and establishing ourselves in Sahaja Yoga. We are taking our first tentative steps towards adulthood, slowly learning to assume responsibilities under the constant love, encouragement, and guidance of our dear Mother. We seek Her blessings for success and at Her lotus feet we humbly surrender.
